UW Sports Ministry has developed a cycle of six camp themes that are rotated through in the summers.
All sample curriculum listed on this page is from the 2010 theme, "Go the Distance." Other UW curriculum's include
This is one of five Bible lessons that will accompany camp each day. The lessons are designed to be 10-15 minutes in length. Each lesson will have two key points that go along with the daily theme. This sample also includes the sports story for the day which is told earlier in camp. The sports stories will reinforce the daily theme and help lead into the Bible lesson.
All the 2010 lessons are based off of 2 Timothy 4:6-8 as each day focuses on the life of Paul. The daily curriculum will take the approach of correlating five key qualities that give athletes the ability to "Go the Distance" to similar Biblical principles that can give us practical tips that will help us "Go the Distance" in our lives.
At the end of camp each day, every camper will receive a take home "Sports Flash". The flash reviews the things that were taught at camp that day. Also in the Sports Flash is "Big Al's Game Page". This includes fun games and quizzes both about sports and the Bible lesson from camp.
During the Halftime Rally each day, the campers will have a chance to win candy by answering trivia from the game page.
Each day at camp, the church volunteers will take a 10 minute share time with their team. During this time they will tell a life story that is based from the theme of the day. The Coach's devotional guide is set up for the coaches to prepare for their time with their team.
